Terms of Service
Last updated October 6, 2026
Draft — not yet reviewed by counsel.
These terms apply when you use Meet Before, whether as an attendee or an organizer. We've tried to keep them readable. If something is unclear, ask us.
1. Who we are and what this is
Meet Before (“we”, “us”) provides software that helps people attending real-world events find and meet each other. We are not the organizer of any event listed on the platform, we do not sell tickets, and we do not guarantee that any particular person will attend or respond.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 16 years old.
- Keep your sign-in method secure. You’re responsible for activity on your account.
- Use your real name or the name you’re known by professionally. Impersonation is not allowed.
- One account per person.
3. How you may use it
Use Meet Before to meet people in good faith around events. You agree not to:
- Harass, threaten, deceive or discriminate against anyone.
- Send unsolicited commercial messages, or use the platform primarily to advertise or recruit at scale.
- Scrape, export or compile other people’s information outside the product.
- Join events you aren’t attending, or circumvent an event’s access controls.
- Interfere with the service, probe its security, or use it to break the law.
Mutual consent is built in: a conversation opens only when both people agree. Blocking and reporting are available everywhere a person appears. We may limit, suspend or close accounts that break these rules.
4. Your content
You own what you post. You give us a licence to store, display and process it as needed to run the product, including showing your profile to other users according to your visibility settings and using it to make introductions. Private notes and follow-ups are shown only to you. You’re responsible for having the right to share what you post.
5. Organizers
If you create or manage an event, you confirm you’re authorized to do so and that the event is real. You’re responsible for the accuracy of your event information, for complying with applicable law when you upload attendee lists (you must have a lawful basis to share those emails with us), and for how you use aggregate analytics. You must not attempt to access attendees’ private messages or notes; the product does not permit it, and attempts to circumvent that are a breach of these terms.
6. Demonstration content
Any event or profile labelled as demonstration data is fictional and exists so you can see how the product works. It does not represent a partnership with, or endorsement by, any real organization.
7. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and how we use it. It forms part of these terms.
8. Availability and changes
We work hard to keep the service running, especially on event days, but we provide it “as is” and can’t promise it will always be available or error-free. We may change or discontinue features. If we make a change that materially reduces what you can do, we’ll give reasonable notice where we can.
9. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for anything that happens between people who meet through the platform. Meet in public places and use your judgment, as you would at any event. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
10. Ending things
You can delete your account at any time from settings. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or put others at risk. Sections that by their nature should survive (content licence for already-shared content, liability, disputes) continue after termination.
11. Disputes
Talk to us first; most issues are solved quickly. The governing law and venue for any dispute will be stated here once reviewed by counsel.
